Vandalism has forced the temporary closure of the outdoor basketball “Dream Court” at the Lahaina Civic Center.

The closure went into effect on Nov. 4, 2021, and will remain in place until necessary repairs are completed.

Due to vandalism, the court’s modular surface tiles and backboards must be replaced, according to an announcement from the Department of Parks and Recreation.

The Department apologized for any inconvenience and asked that the public stay outside the secured fencing surrounding the court areas as a safety precaution.

Other outdoor courts are available in the West Maui District including Lahaina Recreation Complex, Nāpili Park, and Wahikuli Terrace Park.
