Holiday Lights on the Banyan Tree Nightly in December

Lahaina will be lighting up for the holiday season with thousands of colorful lights on the Lahaina Banyan Tree throughout the month of December. Lights will go on nightly from 5:45 p.m. to midnight.

Free family fun will be held in Lahaina at various locations in town. The Kanikapila Serenaders, from Lahainaluna High School, will perform at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2 and 9 on the Baldwin Home lawn.  Chairs will be set up, or the public is invited to bring a blanket and sit on the grass to enjoy the music. 

On Saturday, Dec. 4 and 18, free cookie decorating for kids will be held from 6-8 p.m. on the Baldwin Home lawn. Participants can take their decorated cookies home to share with friends and family.

The Old Lahaina Courthouse will hold a Holiday Open House from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10. Attendees are invited to enjoy holiday treats, meet Maui authors from Maui Writers Ink and purchase their books. Lahaina Arts Society will feature its famous artist designed Christmas tree and an evening giveaway of Hawaiʻi Sunrise, a Mark Thurber 30”x10″ aluminum surfboard photograph.  Also on Dec. 10 at The Village Galleries,  artist Rich Kenny will sign the 2022 Lahaina poster from 5-8 p.m. as part of the Art Night festivities. 

The famous Lahaina Snowman, handmade by Lahaina Ice, will be on view at Campbell Park on Saturday, Dec. 11 from 6-8 p.m. The public is invited to bring their family and take a photo with the snowman before he melts.

A special wreath making workshop, limited to 10 people, will be held at Lahaina Loft on Friday, Dec. 17 from 6-8 p.m. It is free and all materials are provided, but participants must register in advance at www.lahainarestoration.org/holiday.

The snow zone is back with fun for kids 12 and under on Saturday, Dec. 18 from 6-8 p.m. at Campbell Park. Bring one can of food for the Maui Food Bank as admission to the snow zone.
