Live Music Returns to Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center with Ekolu at Kama‘āina Nights

Well over 500 Maui residents were in for special holiday treat Friday night at Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center. Ten-time Nā Hōkū Hanohano award winner, Ekolu, took center stage from 7-8 p.m. It was the first time in 10 years the group has played at the QKC venue.

Presented in partnership with KPOA, the program was part of QKC’s second Kama‘āina Nights of the month, featuring live music, giveaways, and fun for the whole ‘ohana.

“This was be the first time since COVID that Ekolu will be performing and what better place to do it than at Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center’s Kama‘āina Nights series,” said QKC General Manager Kauwela Bisquera. “With COVID restrictions lifted, we are thrilled to be able gather once again and bring live music back to center stage for our community to enjoy safely.”

Kama‘āina Nights promotes and perpetuates Hawaiian culture through live music and a celebration of ‘ohana. On Friday, Dec. 17 from 7-8 p.m., catch the Kalama Intermediate School Band, Juan Brothers, and Kaulike Pescaia at the final Kama‘āina Nights for this month.
