Fundraising campaign gearing up for Special Olympics Hawaii Athletes

An annual “Fueling Dreams” fundraiser for Special Olympics Hawaiʻi gets underway April 1 and runs through May 13. The campaign will be at more than 30 Hele stores on Maui, Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Island. PC: Special Olympics Hawaii

Special Olympics Hawaiʻi will conduct its annual fundraising campaign April 1 through May 13 , according to an announcement from Par Hawaii.

The “Fueling Dreams” campaign will be at more than 30 Hele stores on Maui, Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Island. All donations will help provide opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities to train and compete free of charge.

“Our entire team is honored to partner with such an amazing organization like Special Olympics Hawaiʻi and are very passionate about supporting their work to transform and empower the lives of local athletes with intellectual disabilities,” said Par Hawaii’s Vice President – Hawaiʻi Retail, John Peyton. “We appreciate the generosity of our customers to help raise funds for Special Olympics Hawaiʻi’s sports, health, leadership, and inclusionary programs.”

Par Hawaii, marketer of Hele and 76 Hawaii, has been a strong supporter of Special Olympics Hawaiʻi for more than three decades. To date, the Fueling Dreams campaign has raised more than $1,005,120 for Special Olympics Hawaiʻi athletes and programs.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support that we receive from Par Hawaii and their team every year,” said Special Olympics Hawaiʻi’s President and Chief Executive Officer Dan Epstein. “Par Hawaii does so much for the community and plays such a valuable role in creating opportunities for our local athletes.”

All donations received from the Fueling Dreams campaign allow Special Olympics Hawaiʻi to continue to provide programs and training – both online and in-person – for more than 6,000 athletes and Unified partners across Hawaiʻi.

Special Olympics Hawaiʻi provides year-round sports programs and training for athletes with intellectual disabilities, free of charge. Since 1968, Special Olympics has been changing attitudes about the talents of people with intellectual disabilities and raising awareness to build an inclusive and unified community.
