A team with the Oceanit Research Foundation will unveil the final report from the stateʻs Climate Change Toolkit Project during a presentation at the Pāʻia Mantokuji this weekend.

The bay fronting the temple in Paia is experiencing extreme coastal erosion due to sea level rise, with the shoreline moving inland at a rate of 1.6 feet per year.  The erosion has affected turtle habitat, toppled graves into the sea, and is now threatening the historic temple building.

The presentation will take place on Saturday, July 13, just prior to the Paia Mantokuji 2024 Bon Dance Festival.
