“My Hawaiʻi” Felix Cavaliere featuring Dolly Parton re-record 1968 No. 1 hit song to benefit Maui fire survivors

One of the founders of the legendary band, The Rascals, Felix Cavaliere, is lending his voice to keep the people of Hawaiʻi and their lands top-of-mind following the devastating wildfires in August of 2023. Through the generosity of longtime music industry veterans and global music icon, philanthropist Dolly Parton, Cavaliere is releasing “My Hawaiʻi,” with 100% of proceeds going to Maui United WayMaui Fire Disaster Relief Fund that provides direct financial assistance to community members who experienced loss and devastation from the fires in Lahaina and Kula.

For nearly 80 years, Maui United Way has served the people of Maui County, connecting people, organizations and communities. When the catastrophic wildfires hit, Maui United Way immediately transitioned to disaster response. The funds will go towards ongoing support for food security, stable housing, mental health assistance, making ends meet and much more.

Songwriter Hall of Fame and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Cavaliere’s connection with Hawaiʻi dates back to 1966 when The Rascals landed in Honolulu. With the intent of bringing love and joy , Cavaliere went back to the studio to record the 1968 No. 1 “My Hawaii” (from the “Once Upon A Dream” album).
