Little League World Series bound: Central East Maui wins West Region title, advances to Williamsport
The Central East Maui Little League majors have secured a spot in the Little League World Series after defeating Eastvale Little League of Southern California on Friday 2-1 for the West Region title.
The 12U boys from Maui will play in the opening round of the Little League World Series in Game 2 on Wednesday at 9 a.m. (3 p.m. ET) against Salem, NH, the New England regional team.
The Maui team had three wins and one loss in the regional tournament. Their sole loss was to the same team they ultimately defeated in the regional championship game on Friday.
- The boys won their first game 2-0 against Land Park Pacific Little League of Northern California on Sunday, Aug. 4 at Al Houghton Stadium.
- They lost 3-11 to Eastvale Little League of Southern California on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024.
- On Wednesday, Aug. 7, they earned a 13-9 win over Litchfield Park Little League out of Arizona.
- On Friday, Aug. 9, they secured their spot in the LL World Series by defeating Eastvale Little League of Southern California, 2-1.
The 2024 Little League World Series, presented by T-Mobile, runs from Aug. 14 to 25 at Lamande Stadium in Williamsport, Pa. The game will be carried on ESPN.
The winner of West (Maui, HI) vs. New England (Salem, NH) will advance to Game 10 at 9 a.m. HST (3 p.m. ET) on Friday, Aug. 16.
The losing team from Game 2 will play in Game 16 on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 1 p.m. HST (7 p.m. ET) against the losing team from Game 8 Southwest (Boerne Little League of Texas) vs Mid-Atlantic (Council Rock Newtown Little League of Pennsylvania).
