Step into the Roaring ‘20s at Maui Ocean Center’s next “Sharks After Dark” event from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17. The 21-and-older night will feature live swing music, a 360-degree photo booth and showings of the immersive “Humpbacks of Hawai’i” 3D experience. Themed attire is encouraged.

A highlight of the “Sharks After Dark” events are two diver presentations held at 7 and 8 p.m. These presentations feature a marine naturalist talking with a diver inside of the aquarium’s 750,000-gallon Open Ocean exhibit.

“Guests can expect to learn about the importance of sharks in Hawaiian culture along with the essential role they play in the health of the ocean’s ecosystem,” said head naturalist Sara Peyton. “These animals are definitely something to be revered rather than feared.”

Specialty food will be available for purchase at Reef Café along with 1920s-inspired cocktails, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages. For dessert, choose from a variety of fudge flavors at the aquarium’s gift store, Maui Ocean Treasures.
