Maui Food Bank is gearing up for its annual Food Drive Day on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024. The public is invited to participate by hosting a food and fund drive or by donating nonperishable food to support families facing hunger, a need that has increased by over 65% since the Maui wildfires.

“In the wake of the wildfires, many in our community are struggling to put food on the table. That’s why your support is critical now more than ever,” said Marlene Rice, Development Director, Maui Food Bank. “By donating food or funds, you’ll be nourishing your neighbors facing hunger and helping families rebuild their lives. Together, we can ensure no one goes hungry.”

Staff will accept most needed food items such as canned protein, canned fruits and vegetables, canned meals, cereal, rice, and pasta. Donations may be dropped off at the Maui Food Bank’s Warehouse located at 760 Kolu St. in Wailuku, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Maui Food Bank launched its inaugural Food Drive Day over 29 years ago to help the hungry in Maui County. For more information, visit https://mauifoodbank.org/event/food-drive-day/
