Jon Gersonde has been named general manager at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua. He brings three decades of distinguished experience and leadership expertise to this important role at one of Maui’s most iconic resorts.

In his capacity as general manager, Gersonde will oversee all aspects of the resort, focusing on delivering exceptional guest experiences and enlivening the service values of The Ritz-Carlton brand. His leadership skills and commitment to excellence are expected to elevate the luxury Maui resort’s reputation as a top travel destination, according to a resort announcement.

Gersonde has led numerous sustainability and regenerative tourism initiatives throughout his career. Prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton Maui, he served as vice president and managing director at O‘ahu’s Turtle Bay Resort, which recently transitioned to a Ritz-Carlton property.

He brings more than 25 years of invaluable experience across the state of Hawai‘i. He has held pivotal roles as vice president of operations, managing director, and general manager for developments including the 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay, Maunakea Beach Hotel, The Royal Hawaiian, Kapalua Bay Hotel, and The Westin Maui. His hospitality leadership also spans around the world including senior hotel positions in Australia, Asia, California, Florida, the Western Pacific, and the Caribbean.
