The 44th annual Hawai‘i International Film Festival (HIFF44) presented by Halekulani will showcase 92 feature films, 114 shorts, 40 world premiers and 31 US premieres across the islands from Oct. 3 to Nov. 10.

Screenings will take place at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center from Oct. 19-20, at Lānaʻi Theater at Hale Keaka on Oct. 21-23, and at Kaunakakai Elementary School on Molokaʻi from Nov. 7-8.

“We have the largest selection of Hawai‘i films in competition in the festival’s history, with representation from many of our neighbor islands. We are presenting multiple films that explore Indigenous perspectives, narrative sovereignty, and the nurturing of cultural identity,” said Beckie Stochetti, HIFF executive director.
