Maui police seek help with information in cold case from 28 years ago
The Maui Police Department Cold Case Unit requests the public’s assistance in identifying a man who was found deceased in the waters off Kahului Harbor breakwater on Sept. 25, 1996.
The deceased man is described as in his late 30s, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighing around 230 pounds. The man was discovered shirtless and wearing gray-colored gym shorts, with a yellow-colored mesh dive bag floating nearby. It is estimated that the man had been in the water for less than 24 hours before his recovery.
