Explore local crafts and careers at Queen Kaʻahumanu Center this weekend
Join us at Queen Kaʻahumanu Center this Sunday, May 4, for two events: the Ben Franklin Spring Craft Fair and the Maui Police Department Recruitment Center Open House.
The biannual Ben Franklin Craft Fair is back and will feature over 50 local vendors showcasing handcrafted items, creative goods, and locally-made products. The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Level 1 parking structure. Shoppers and craft enthusiasts will also have a chance to meet Joy Shimabukuro from the OC16 TV show “The Joy of Crafting.”
From 12 to 4 p.m., the Maui Police Department will host an Open House to celebrate the opening of its new Recruitment Center. This is a unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at what it means to protect and serve Maui County. Guests are encouraged to visit the Recruitment Center, located on the second floor near the Macy’s parking structure entrance, and enjoy a full lineup of activities at Center Court.
Attendees can talk story with Maui Police officers, learn about community resources, explore career opportunities in law enforcement, and enjoy live entertainment, keiki activities, face painting, prize giveaways, and more.

“At Queen Kaʻahumanu Center, we’re committed to supporting our tenants and creating meaningful experiences for the community,” said Kauwela Shultz, General Manager of Queen Kaʻahumanu Center. “This Sunday, we welcome everyone to support local crafters, explore career opportunities with the Maui Police Department, and enjoy a fun-filled day with family and friends.”
Both events are free and open to the public. For more information, visit https://queenkaahumanucenter.com/events/
