Hawaiian Electric is improving its outage reporting system on Hawaiʻi Island and in Maui County. As part of the new system, the current phone numbers to report outages will be replaced with new toll-free numbers, effective May 8, 2025.

The new system will automatically recognize the caller’s number and account if they call from the phone number associated with their account, similar to Oʻahu’s toll-free trouble line. Customers will be able to quickly and easily report an outage through the automated system anytime without waiting to speak with an agent.

The toll-free numbers to report outages are:

  • Maui County           1-855-304-8181
  • Hawaiʻi Island          1-855-304-9191
  • Oʻahu                     1-855-304-1212

To benefit from the new reporting system, customers are encouraged to ensure the phone number on their account is current by logging in to their online account or by calling the Hawaiian Electric customer service call center on their island.
