West Maui residents may dispose of bulky, recyclable items for free at May 17 event

West Maui residents may dispose of bulky, recyclable items for free at a Go Green Recycling event from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Lahaina Civic Center.

Go Green Recycling events are held by nonprofit Mālama Maui Nui in partnership with the County of Maui Department of Environmental Management Abandoned Vehicles and Metals office.

Appointments are required. To request an appointment, visit https://forms.gle/5j99ViTdikw9ccZr5.

The program allows residents to dispose of the following recyclables at no charge:

  • Air conditioners
  • Batteries (lead acid only)
  • Washers
  • Dryers
  • Dishwashers
  • Microwaves
  • Refrigerators
  • Stoves
  • Tires
  • Water heaters
  • Scrap metal
  • Freezers
  • Trash compactors
  • Induction cookers
  • Cooking oil
  • Electronics (TVs, printers, computers, monitors and associated electrical cords)

Commercial drop-offs will not be accepted.
