500 wrestlers from 24 clubs compete in Hawaiʻi USA Wrestling Championship on Maui

Nakamura Wrestling, of Wailuku, won the Hawaiʻi USA Wrestling Championship, Saturday at the South Maui Gymnasium in Kīhei.
More than 500 wrestlers representing 24 clubs from Maui, Oʻahu, Molokaʻi, Kauaʻi, and Hawaiʻi Island competed on 10 mats. The tournament was sponsored by Maui Style Wrestling.
The Wailuku club scored 1,094 points and had 26 champions. 808 Wrestling, of Kahului, was second with 584.5 points and 15 champions, followed by Nāpili Surfriders with 578.5 and 14 winners.
