The Makawao Drop-In Center, which has served Maui families for over a decade, will expand to three locations islandwide this upcoming school year in August, with new sites opening in Kula, Haʻikū and Kīhei. A summer program will also be offered at its Kīhei location.

For 11 years, the Makawao Drop-In Center has provided enriching, play-based learning experiences for children ages 2½ to 5. Unlike traditional childcare centers, the program is designed for families seeking a flexible, part-time option that still delivers a full, developmentally appropriate curriculum. Each day includes a balance of free play, music, dance, art and early education activities, supporting children’s growth through creativity, movement and exploration.

“Our mission has always been to offer young children a joyful, meaningful start to their educational journey,” said the center’s founder. “We’re excited to bring that same energy and quality to even more families across Maui.”
