Hawaiʻi Life Flight adds three planes to fleet
Hawaiʻi Life Flight has added three refurbished Beechcraft King Air C90 aircraft to its fleet of 10. The addition enhances the company’s ability to provide rapid, life-saving care across the Hawaiian Islands, said Jacob Mayer, program director for Hawaiʻi Life Flight.
Company representatives say the twin-engine turboprops, renowned for reliability, speed and range are well suited for the state’s unique geography. The three additional aircraft are equipped with the Garmin G600 avionics package.
“The recent retrofit of our King Air fleet with Garmin G600 avionics marks a significant upgrade in safety and reliability. Advanced digital displays provide enhanced situational awareness, better equipping our crews to make informed decisions—especially in the demanding environment of medevac flying,” said CJ Wetzler, assistant chief pilot.
Additionally, he said, it will enhance the ability to serve the community with reduced maintenance requirements.
One of the planes features a bariatric door to assist emergency personnel with caring for a particular segment of the island population. All planes have improved and upgraded interiors for safer and more comfortable transport for patients and emergency medical personnel.
“These upgraded planes increase our capacity and meet our continuing goal to improve our service to Hawaiʻi,” said Tiffany Lightfoot Allen, Regional Director for AMR and Hawaiʻi Life Flight.
