Maui takes center stage as Outrigger Resorts & Hotels celebrates World Ocean Month this June with events highlighting marine conservation and cultural engagement across its global properties.

At Outrigger Kāʻanapali Beach Resort, the month kicks off on May 31 with ocean limu planting in Waiheʻe in partnership with the Maui Ocean Center. Other Maui highlights include:

  • May 31 | Limu Planting in the ocean at Waihe‘e with the Maui Ocean Center.
  • June 8 | 8 a.m. – Teralani Catamaran “Sailing with Purpose”: An ocean adventure with onboard cultural specialists sharing moʻolelo (stories), mele (songs) and marine conservation insights.
  • June 18 | 9 a.m. – Volunteer day at Puʻu Kukui Watershed Conservation Area for native tree planting and erosion control, preserving vital water sources for West Maui.
  • June 28 | Coral Spawning in partnership with the Maui Ocean Center
  • June TBD | Lahaina Beach Clean-up at Baby Beach & Māla Wharf with hosts from Hawai‘i Vacation Condos by Outrigger – Maui.

These efforts are part of a global initiative that includes coral planting, educational programming and beach cleanups in Hawaiʻi and beyond. Outrigger launched its conservation-focused Outrigger Zone initiative in 2014, and this year’s month-long campaign continues to promote ocean literacy and environmental stewardship.
