Some like it hot: Lahaina Boy Hot Sauce set for incendiary launch party on June 27

Get ready for a new blast of local flavor as Lahaina Boy Hot Sauce makes its official debut with a launch party from 7 to 10 p.m. June 27 at Coco Deck Lahaina.

The event will give adventurous heat seekers a first taste of the new hot sauce line, hosted by award-winning local chef and Lahaina Boy Hot Sauce owner Alvin Savella, also known as “The Kitchen Assassin.” Guests can sample the full range of island-inspired sauces, including “Laid Back,” “Akshen,” and “Scrappa.”

“Every bottle is a little bit of where I’m from — spicy, local, and full of flavor,” Savella said. “This launch is about celebrating local flavor and having fun with our community.”

The event is touted as a “celebration of local talent, culinary innovation, and the vibrant spirit of our Lahaina community.”

Beyond the tasting experience, the launch party will feature interactive activities. For $5, attendees can test their skills on a mechanical bull. At 8:30 p.m., a chile eating contest will take place, free for anyone brave enough to enter. Exclusive hot sauce bundle specials will be available, alongside giveaways sponsored by Maui Gold Pineapple Company and Coco Deck Lahaina.

The launch party is free to the public, welcoming both residents and visitors. Food, drinks and Lahaina Boy Hot Sauce will be available for purchase. Reservations are encouraged and can be made at www.cocodecklahaina.com or through OpenTable, though walk-ins are also welcome.
