Free youth swim lessons offered this summer on Maui

Coach Spencer Shiraishi Memorial Pool. PC: County of Maui

The County of Maui’s Department of Parks and Recreation, Aquatics Division, has teamed up with Maui Swim Club to offer its annual tuition-free summer learn to swim program for youth.

Taught by Maui Swim Club coaches and experienced swim team members, the lessons are free for all children five years and up. Lessons will be held from 4:30 to 5 p.m., weekdays starting June 30 and ending Aug. 29, 2025.

Participation requires attendance at a mandatory parent meeting, which will take place on Tuesday, June 24 at 6:15 p.m. at the Coach Spencer Shiraishi Memorial Pool (formerly Kahului Pool), located next to the Salvation Army in Kahului. The address is 145 Kaulawahine St.

Full registration details and program rules will be shared during the meeting.

Space is limited to the first 100 applicants, and children must be at least five years old by the program’s start date to qualify.
