General registration is now open for Paddle for Life 2025, the annual fundraising voyage supporting Maui County’s cancer ʻohana.

Organized by the Pacific Cancer Foundation, Paddle for Life invites participants to paddle from Maui to Lānaʻi—or join virtually from anywhere in the world.

On Oct. 4, participants will voyage from Lahaina across the ‘Au’au channel to Manele Bay, Lana’i, camping overnight, and voyaging back, a 36-mile roundtrip journey with an estimated 25 canoes and over 450 cancer survivors and supporters.

The paddle incorporates traditional Hawaiian customs, such as an exchange of ti leaf lei and ‘ulu (breadfruit) between the islands. The funds raised support Pacific Cancer Foundation’s cancer services and resources in Maui County. The event’s total fundraising goal is $300,000.

All paddlers must register as part of a team this year; individual registration is not available. Those who do not yet have a team are encouraged to sign up under PCF Team #1 or PCF Team #2 and paddle alongside community members.

Team Captains must register their team before members can join. If a team name isn’t visible during registration, paddlers should contact their captain to ensure the team is created first.

Each participant is required to raise a minimum of $300. The $100 registration fee counts toward that fundraising goal.

New in 2025, paddlers can take part virtually. Virtual paddlers can join from any location and help raise funds for cancer support services in Maui County.

This year’s event uses Raisin, an online registration and fundraising system that makes it easier to sign up, track progress and invite supporters. Participants will need to create a new account, which will be saved for future events.
