Procession and Memorial Service for Officer Suzanne O

The Maui Police Department, in partnership with the family of Officer Suzanne O, announces the procession and memorial service honoring her life and service on Friday, Aug. 29, 2025.
The procession will begin at at 8:15 a.m. from Nakamura’s Mortuary and proceed as follows:
- Mauka on Lower Main Street to Waiale Road.
- Right on Wells Street.
- Right on Kinipopo Street.
- Right on Ka‘ahumanu Avenue.
- Right on Maui Lani Parkway.
- Left on Mahalani Street.
- Right on Ka‘ahumanu Avenue.
- Left on Wahine Piʻo Avenue to the main entrance of the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
Businesses and members of the public are welcomed to line the route and pay their respects as Officer O is escorted to her memorial service.
Traffic delays are expected along the route.
Memorial Service at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center – Castle Theater
- 9 a.m. – Doors open
- 9:30 a.m. – Service begins
Reserved Seating: Family, MPD personnel, invited guests, and first responders will be admitted first. Public seating will be available only if space permits.
Parking is available at UH Maui College and Keōpūolani Park. Sheriff Division personnel will be stationed at each entrance. No parking will be allowed on the Maui Arts & Cultural Center grounds.
Outside Access:
- Audio of the ceremony will be broadcast to the Maui Arts & Cultural Center lawn area.
- Live video stream of the ceremony will be available through Hawaii News Now at hawaiinewsnow.com.
- The End of Watch roll call (via patrol car), the three-volley salute and flower drop will take place outside of the theater.
Portion of Keōpūolani Regional Park to close briefly Friday, Aug. 29
The makai side of Keōpūolani Regional Park, accessed via Keōpūolani Parkway between Kanaloa and Wahinepio avenues, will be temporarily closed beginning at 7 a.m. on Aug. 29, 2025, to provide parking and support safe pedestrian access for attendees walking to the Maui Arts & Cultural Center for the services honoring fallen Maui Police Officer Suzanne O, the County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation announced.
The area will reopen following the conclusion of the services, which are expected to end no later than 3 p.m.
The mauka portion of Keōpūolani Regional Park, including the skate park, field, comfort stations and walking paths, will remain open.

Oʻahu Services – Valley of the Temple, Kāneʻohe
Officer O will also be honored on Monday, Sept. 1, 2025 at Valley of the Temple (47-200 Kahekili Hwy, Kāneʻohe, HI 96744).
- 8:30-9:45 a.m. Private service
- 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Public visitation
- 12-1 p.m. Ceremony
- 1-3 p.m. Reception
