Women’s competition called ON at the Outerknown Tahiti Pro Presented by I-SEA

Women’s Round One has been called ON at the Outerknown Tahiti Pro Presented by I-SEA, Stop No. 7 of the 2026 World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT). After three days saw the completion of the men’s first two rounds, the world’s best women will get their shot at Teahupo’o at this year’s event.

Moderate cross-shore winds are continuing today but are expected to improve throughout the day, with waves coming through in the six-foot-plus range. Both men’s Round Three and Women’s Round Two are on standby. 

Heat 1 of the day will see Championship Tour veteran Sally Fitzgibbons(AUS) surf her first-ever CT heat at Teahupo’o. Fitzgibbons will need to be on her game as she takes on 2026 CT Rookie Anat Lelior (ISR), who will be one to watch in the hollow waves on offer in Tahiti. 

The second heat of the day will see two of the sport’s biggest stars on the rise, Tya Zebrowski (FRA) and Erin Brooks (CAN), go head-to-head as both women look to stamp their mark on the season with a big result here in Tahiti. 

Aussie hopeful Isabella Nichols (AUS) will have her work cut out for her in Heat 3 of Round One when she takes on local Vahine Fierro (FRA), who is on the hunt for a second win here at the end of the road. Both women need a big result soon as they look to move up the rankings and into a spot for requalification. 

The last heat of the round will see the youngest wildcard to ever win an event, two-time World Champion Tyler Wright (AUS), take on the youngest ever wildcard to compete in an event, Kelia Gallina (PYF), who, in her second year competing as a wildcard, turned 14 just yesterday.
