Lahaina Jodo Mission will host its second detox and wellness workshop on Aug. 22. Practitioners will offer traditional Chinese medicine, community acupuncture, and stress management practices as part of the mission’s ongoing post-wildfire healing efforts.
The gathering runs from 10 a.m. to noon at 12 Ala Moana St. in Lahaina. Registration opens at 9:30 a.m.
Nurse practitioner Stephanie Dent and board-certified acupuncturist Kayo Malik will lead the sessions. Dent will guide a small-group mini tea ceremony. Malik will provide community acupuncture and present information on supporting kidney health through traditional Chinese medicine.
The event builds on a previous session held in June. The Imua Maui Community Healing Initiative funds the series through a grant.
“The third anniversary reminds us how much Lahaina has endured and how important it is to continue caring for one another,” organizers said. “Rebuilding Lahaina is not only about restoring homes and businesses. It is also about supporting the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the community.”
Organizers require an RSVP because space is limited. Residents can register online or email lahainajodomission@gmail.com. To register, click here.
