Kahului teen reported missing my concerned family

The Maui Police Department requests the public’s assistance with any information regarding the whereabouts of Kaikoa Maeda-Kalani, 15, of Kahului.

Maeda-Kalani was reported missing by a concerned family member on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026.  He was last seen being dropped off at school in Kahului on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, at approximately 7:20 a.m.; it was later reported he did not attend any classes after 11 a.m. Maeda-Kalani does not have a phone or vehicle.

He is described as being approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 220 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black, long-sleeved shirt with an unknown design, light blue pants and black shoes.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Maeda-Kalani is asked to contact the Maui Police Department’s non-emergency number at 808-244-6400. If it is an emergency, dial 911 and refer to MPD report number 26-021470.
