Maui Bus to be re-routed during Maui Fair Parade, Oct. 1, 2026

Due to the partial closure of Ka‘ahumanu Avenue on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, to accommodate the Maui County Fair Parade, Maui Bus service will be re-routed and specific bus stops will not be in service, the County of Maui Department of Transportation announced. The changes are as follows:

Kahului Loop Route #5

• Eliminating the 3:35 p.m., 4:35 p.m. and 5:35 p.m. Wahine Piʻo/MACC, Roselani Place and Papa Avenue/Kea Street stops from the Kahului Transit Center.  

Kahului Reverse Loop Route #6

• Eliminating the 3:39 p.m., 4:39 p.m. and 5:39 p.m. Roselani Place, Papa Avenue/Kea Street and Wahine Piʻo/UH Maui College stops going to Kahului Transit Center.

Wailuku Loop Route #1

• Eliminating the 4:15 p.m. stops along Kanaloa Avenue from the Kahului Transit Center for the remainder of the night.
• Eliminating the 4:36 p.m., 5:36 p.m. and 6:36 p.m. stops at Maui Memorial Medical Center and Maui Lani Parkway from the Kahului Transit Center for the remainder of the night.

Wailuku Reverse Loop Route #2

• Eliminating the 4:05 p.m., 5:05 p.m. and 6:05 p.m. stops along Kanaloa Avenue from the Kahului Transit Center. Eliminating the 4:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. Maui Memorial Medical Center and Maui Lani Parkway stops.

The remaining bus routes will operate as normal with some deviation in street routing but will continue to serve all other existing bus stops. Passengers are asked to expect delays in pick-up times due to the increased traffic during the parade.

During the Maui County Fair operational hours, the Wailuku Loop Route #1 will not service any of the bus stops on Kanaloa Avenue, due to the heavy traffic in the area. This bus will be re-routed during Fair hours.

Maui Bus Commuter parking, normally allowed at the War Memorial Stadium parking lot, will be relocated to the Kahului Boat Ramp during the Maui County Fair from Thursday, Oct. 1 through Sunday, Oct. 4.
