Maui Police Officer Analise Farmer named 2026 Top Cop in Maui County

The Maui Police Department congratulates Officer Analise Farmer, a seven-year veteran, on being named the 2026 TOP COP Hawaiʻi Award recipient for Maui County. This recognition highlights her leadership, innovation, and dedication to strengthening officer training and preparing the next generation of law enforcement professionals.
Officer Farmer has been assigned to the Plans and Training Section of the department’s Organizational Development Bureau for less than two years, during which she has made significant contributions to strengthening the department’s training programs. Despite critical staffing shortages, she assumed the additional responsibilities of Acting Administrative Sergeant while learning her new assignment as a Police Officer III and completing specialized training.
Officer Farmer restructured and refined the Recruit Training Academy, overseeing approximately four classes that resulted in the graduation of 44 new officers. She also helped expand the department’s training capacity from two academy classes to three, increasing its ability to address staffing needs while maintaining training standards.
Additionally, she spearheaded the implementation of PowerReady, an online documentation and evaluation platform for the Field Training Officer (FTO) Program. The system centralizes training records, standardizes evaluations, improves supervisory oversight, and helps ensure officers are adequately prepared for independent duty while reducing reliance on paperwork.
“Officer Farmer’s accomplishments show that meaningful leadership is not defined by rank or title, but by the willingness to step forward, recognize opportunities for improvement, and take action,” said Acting Police Chief Wade Maeda. “Her work has strengthened how we recruit, train, and prepare our officers. The improvements she has brought forward will have a lasting impact on our department and the quality of service we provide to the Maui County community.”
Officer Farmer has balanced these professional responsibilities while embracing her role as a mother, demonstrating remarkable resilience, initiative, and commitment to public service.
Since 1984, TOP COP Hawaiʻi has recognized outstanding individuals in law enforcement and security throughout the state.
