The 15- by 10-foot structure was used as a sleeping area for a property caretaker, who was not at the location when the fire occurred, said Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.

According to FS Chief Mainaga, the structure and a large pile of wood pallets next to it was fully involved upon arrival by firefighters form the Lahaina and Nāpili stations.

The fire destroyed the shed and a canopy used to store coffee bags before it was brought under control at 4:55 a.m., officials said.
