Surveillance Images Released in Kahului Laptop Theft

The Maui Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual who allegedly stole a laptop from an unsecured business in Kahului.

The incident was reported at 1:32 p.m. on Sept. 29, 2013, at Piʻikea Inc. located on Hukilike Street, police said.

The unknown male offender allegedly walked into the main doors of the business and stole a gray, Dell D820 Latitude laptop valued at $1,200, and fled the area undetected, according to Maui Police.

Police released the accompanying surveillance photographs of the offender that were taken from video surveillance footage on scene.

According to the company website, Piʻikea reportedly provides accounting services to Minit Stop Holdings, LLC, Hawaiʻi Petroleum Inc., and Maui Petroleum, Inc., and is located at the same address as the Hawaiʻi Fueling Network.

Anyone with information on the theft or the identity of the suspect are asked to call Detective Delos Santos at (808) 244-6437.
