Findings of Underage Drinking Prevention on Maui Unveiled

Findings from a state-funded grant program to prevent underage drinking on Maui will be discussed during an informational meeting.

Results of the Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant, will be shared during the meeting set to run from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Maui Economic Opportunity conference room in Wailuku.

The meeting is hosted by the Center on the Family, the University of Hawaiʻi, and the County of Maui.

Dr. Sylvia Yuen and Eileen Sabino from the Center on the Family, will share findings from projects focused on underage drinking prevention strategies conducted in the County of Maui.

Jan Shishido, deputy director from the Department of Housing and Human Concerns will also discuss the County of Maui, Strategic Plan for Underage Drinking.

Individuals in the public and organizations interested in joining the coalition to fight underage drinking and support underage drinking prevention programs, are invited to attend.

Light refreshments will be served.
