Police Investigate Unattended Death at West Maui Resort

***UPDATE: Maui police have since identified the victim as 53-year-old Christopher Reed. Police say Reed was a resident of Lahaina, Maui.
Maui police are investigating the discovery of a body on the grounds of a West Maui resort on Monday as an unattended death.
According to preliminary police reports, authorities have identified the man as a 53-year-old, possibly from out of state. The name of the victim was being withheld at last report pending notification of next of kin.
Police say the lifeless man was found lying unresponsive with observable injuries on the pavement within the boundaries of the Marriott Ocean Club resort property.
Lahaina Patrol Officers responded to the incident at around 6:40 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, according to information released by the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
Police say the investigation is ongoing at this time.
