Hawaiian Airlines today announced the start of online ticket sales for its newest interisland operation, ‘Ohana by Hawaiian.
The service aboard a fleet of 42-passenger turboprop aircrafts, begins with three daily fights from Honolulu International Airport to Moloka’i on March 11, and twice daily service from Honolulu to Lāna’i on March 18, 2014, the airline said.
“As Hawaii’s first airline, this new operation anchors us to our legacy and vision to connect all of our island communities through flight, making it easier for kamaʻāina and visitors alike to share time together,” said Hadden Watt, managing director of ‘Ohana by Hawaiian in a company press release.
The ATR-42 aircraft were named for a wind on each of the islands they will serve: Holo Kaomi of Paoma’i, Lāna’i; Kaiāulu of Wai’anae, O’ahu; and Hikipua of Hālawa, Moloka’i, the company said.
In celebration of the planned launch, the airline is offering a special $59 one-way fare for tickets booked on the new routes by Monday, Feb. 17, for travel through April 17, 2014.
The airline says the ‘Ohana by Hawaiian operation creates more than 100 new Hawai’i-based jobs in the air transportation industry.
