45 mph gusts expected at Haleakala 5/25/10
The National Weather Service issued a WIND ADVISORY for the summit areas of Haleakala until noon today (Tuesday, May 25, 2010). A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 mph are expected.
Forecasts call for winds over the summit areas of Haleakala to be 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 45 mph through noon today.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Motorists are advised to use extra caution and secure any loose objects hat may become airborne, or more them indoors.
