Waterline Repair to Affect Dairy Road Traffic in Kahului

One lane on Dairy Road will be closed today, March 13, 2014, while crews from the Maui Department of Water Supply personnel repair a waterline.

Department officials say traffic will be affected on Dairy Road from the Kele Street intersection near Kmart to just before the Hāna Highway intersection.

Work is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and conclude by 1:30 this afternoon.

Motorists are advised that they may still access the Hāna Highway from the right and left lanes; however the center lane on the south-bound side of the road will be closed, said Jacky Takakura, administrative officer for the department.

The road work may include intermittent stoppage of traffic to allow heavy machinery to access the site. Water service is not expected to be affected.
