From proper rice cooking technique to the art of inside-out rolls, Japengo’s bimonthly sushi making school will help you develop your skills.

Held the second and fourth Saturday of every month from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Japengo in the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, attendees can expect hands-on training.

Led by Sushi Chef Kaz Kim, students are taught how to select and prepare ingredients and “roll sushi like a master.”
Eat as you learn, and leave with recipes and tips to try at home.

As part of Hyatt Regency Maui’s overall mission to continuously find ways to give back to the community, Japengo will be hosting Lahainaluna High School’s Japanese Club for a private complimentary Sushi School session this Saturday, April 27.

The club of 20 students will join Chef Kaz and learn what it takes to be a sushi master.

For those who aren’t part of the high school’s Japanese club, Japengo Sushi School costs $50 per person and reservations are required. Call 808-667-4727 to make yours.
