Surveillance Photos Released in Alleged Credit Card Fraud

The Maui Police Department has released surveillance photos of a male and female saying the two are suspects in cases involving alleged theft and alleged fraudulent use of a credit card.

According to Crime Stoppers, the investigation stems from a vehicle break-in reported on April 11, on Lower Honoapiʻilani Road in Nāpili.  Officials say numerous items were removed from the vehicle including credit cards that were then used to purchase items in Lahaina.

The surveillance images are of photos taken on that same afternoon at the Hawaiian Island Creation store at the Lahaina Cannery Mall.

According to Crime Stoppers, the stolen credit cards were also used at Longs Drugs in Lahaina.

Police released the photos today saying they are seeking the public’s help in identifying the two individuals in the photographs.

Anyone with information concerning the identity of the individuals observed in the attached surveillance photos is asked to contact Maui Crime Stoppers at (808) 242-6966. Neighbor island residents can call toll free at 1-888-242-6966.

Anyone with information can also call Detective Gordon Sagun at (808) 661-0559 Monday through Friday between 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., or Maui police dispatch at (808) 244-6400.

Maui Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of individuals in unsolved felony crimes; the recovery of stolen property or seizure of illegal drugs in felony cases; or the capture of felony fugitives.

The public should consider all wanted persons as dangerous and should not approach, follow or take other action that could put themselves in danger.

The public is reminded that the information provided by authorities is merely an accusation, and all parties are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
