The Maui Arts & Cultural Center has announced that Maui Calls – scheduled for this Friday, Aug. 8 –  is “being postponed due to impending Hurricanes Iselle and Julio, and the possible effects for our people on Maui.”

In a statement, the MACC explained, “Whatever level of storm is to hit, the threat of high winds and drenching rains makes this postponement necessary.  In the interest of safety, MACC has put storm plans in place, with the primary concern that all Island residents take care to be safe and sound as the dual storms hit the islands this week.”

A new date will be chosen and announced as soon as possible.
