Arrest Made in Maui Meth Trafficking Investigation

Maui police arrested two Waiehu men on bench warrants following a drug investigation by the Department’s Crime Reduction Unit.
Maui police say Chester Mahuna, 59, was arrested and charged with: first degree methamphetamine trafficking; second and third degree promotion of a dangerous drug; first and second degree promotion of a detrimental drug; fourth degree promotion of a harmful drug; and three counts of prohibited acts relating to drug paraphernalia.
Garrick Kanae, 53, was arrestedĀ for alleged violations relating to a gun permit, third degree promotion of a dangerous drug, and prohibited acts relating to drug paraphernalia, according to Maui police.
Mahuna was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail; and Kanae’s bail was set at $50,000.
