The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa today announced the promotion of Sean Ganhinhin to Director of Property Operations, and the hire of Brian Hunnings as Executive Assistant Manager.

In his new role as the Director of Property Operations, Sean Ganhinhin will lead the company’s housekeeping, maintenance public areas, and capital projects teams.

He will also oversee subcontracted services that include laundry, night cleaning, and landscaping services for the West Maui property.

“Sean has been a great asset to the Sheraton Maui Resort and Spa,” says Tetsuji Yamazaki, General Manager of the resort in a company press release. “Over the past year and a half, Sean has shown great leadership of his team and we are pleased to promote him to Director of Property Operations. Sean’s strong leadership skills will drive the success of the property operations team to exceed our guests’ expectations.”

Ganhinhin began his career with Starwood in 2009, and previously served as Director of Front Office at the resort. Over the years he also served as Director of Front Office, Service Express Manager, and Guest Relations Manager at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa.

Ganhinhin earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in Travel Industry Management.

As Executive Assistant Manager, Brian Hunnings will assist the General Manager in administering and managing the resort’s operations, maintain cost and quality standards, and drive profit for the organization.

Hunnings joined Starwood Hotels and Resorts in 2008 and has since held various roles including Area Director of Food and Beverage for Hawaiʻi and French Polynesia, Director of Food & Beverage for Sheraton Waikīkī, and Director of Food and Beverage for Moana Surfrider, a Westin Resort & Spa.

Prior to joining Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Hunnings held previous employment positions at the Hotel Hāna Maui (now Travaasa Hāna), Humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa at the Grand Wailea, Ceasars Entertainment, and The Phoenician.
