Halloween Themed Walk Raises Funds for Maui Kids in Crisis
By Maui Now Staff
This fundraising event in support of Maui’s keiki includes a costume contest, scary snacks, and fun Halloween activities, this Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014 at Keōpūolani Park’s Hui Aloha Playground in Kahului.
“By collecting $100 you could pay for a child’s horseback riding lesson. $500 pays for a dream stay at a hotel, or could provide assistance to a child in paying for chemotherapy,” said event organizers.
“These dreams may seem small to us, but for a sick or abused child, these dreams are memories for a lifetime, and could change their world.”
The even begins at 8 a.m., with registration at 7 a.m. The minimum pledge for child participants is $15, and the minimum pledge for an adult is $25.

The Maui-based A Keiki’s Dream program is run by the non-profit, community based Fun Day Foundation, whose mission is to support and empower Maui children in crisis and their families. The foundation currently serves more than 100 families each year through its core programs.
