Lānaʻi Chamber Hosts 5th Friday on Halloween, Oct. 31

While much of the attention for Halloween is focused on Lahaina, residents on the Island of Lānaʻi have a celebration of their own happening on Oct. 31, 2014.

The Lānaʻi Chamber of Commerce Hosts its second Fifth Friday event for Lānaʻi from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Halloween in the heart of Lānaʻi City at Dole Park.

Like the Maui festivities, the Lānaʻi event features a costume contest, a keiki parade, live music, food, drinks, and prizes.

Tickets are on sale for $5 in advance or $10 at the event.  Tickets can be purchased at participating businesses including: Mike Carroll Gallery; Four Seasons Resorts on Lānaʻi; Cory Labang Studio; Carmens Mexican Food; Canoes Lānaʻi; Fusion Food Truck; Island Treasures; The Local Gentry; Religious Experience Salsa; Lānaʻi Art Center; Lānaʻi Senior Center; Avenue Juice Bar; Kumu Ola Farms; Pele’s Other Garden; Nō Ka ʻOi Grindz; Pine Isle Market; Island Images Salon; Cafe 565; Richards Market; and Lānaʻi City Grille.

In addition to the Halloween festivities, the event also features the release a series of five short films that were written and directed by Anthony Kaʻauamo Pacheco.

The event is sponsored by the Colation for a Drug-Free Lānaʻi, a program that promotes a healthy and drug-free lifestyle on the island.

The Fifth Friday is an event that was launched on the Island of Lāna’i in August to promote local small businesses, celebrate the unique lifestyle of Lāna’i, and encourage a continued sense of community.
