Kahului Robbery Under Investigation

Maui Police are investigating a first degree robbery reported on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, in Kahului.
Police say an investigation revealed a 62-year-old male victim was approached at a bus stop, by an unknown man that demanded money, while brandishing a hand gun which was later determined to be a BB gun.
The suspect then shot the victim several times before fleeing on foot, according to police reports.
The victim was transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries for further treatment.
Police described the suspect as 6-feet tall with a muscular built, short black hair, and clean shaven. The suspect was reportedly wearing a white or light colored shirt at the time of the incident.
Police are requesting the public’s assistance with any information on the identity of the suspect.
