Sheraton Maui Appoints New Directors for Event Catering and Front Office

The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa has appointed two new leaders to direct event catering and front office operations. The resort announced that Toni Rojas, CMP, is now the acting director of catering and event management, and Carol Schwarz is the director of the front office.

Rojas will oversee weddings and meetings, as well as other events that the Maui resort caters and coordinates. She has been a certified meeting professional (CMP) since 1998, a globally recognized industry designation. Rojas previously served as the director of sales for the Maui Visitors Bureau, also working in the catering and convention services departments for Prince Resorts Hawai‘i, Maui Inter-Continental Resort, and Kapalua Bay Hotel and Villas.

“Toni’s knowledge and leadership in the Hawai‘i meeting market will raise the bar of the meeting and events team to new heights,” said Susan Havens, director of sales and marketing for the Maui resort.

Schwarz will oversee guest service operations as the director of the front office. She has previously served as the director of hotel operations at the Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. She also managed the Palms Place Hotel Condo and Spa, and held several lead positions at The Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Newport Beach, California.

“Carol brings a wealth of hospitality experience to her new role at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa,” said Brian Hunnings, executive assistant manager for the Maui resort.
