Crews from the Maui Civil Defense Agency today conducted a test of the Emergency Alert Siren located at the Pāʻia Fire Station to ensure the system is working properly following maintenance.

Authorities say there is no emergency, and apologized for the inconvenience.

The test come son the heels of a siren malfunction at a different EAS siren located at Olowalu in West Maui.

As a reminder, the monthly Emergency Alert System and Siren Warning System test will take place as normally scheduled on the first working day of the month, Friday, Jan. 2, 2015 at 11:45 a.m.
