North: Surf heights are expected waist high to slightly overhead today for the best breaks, especially for spots east of Ho’okipa.

West: Spots open to the swells are expected to get waves waist to shoulder high on the sets at the best northerly breaks. Otherwise, breaks that don’t catch the swells, and / or are shadowed from it, are forecasted to get smaller surf at knee high or flat.

South: Mostly flat.

Screen Shot 2014-12-26 at 11.15.48 PMA new northwest is forecasted for Saturday into Sunday building to a few feet overhead to possibly double overhead at the best breaks open to the swell. A reinforcement is on tap for Monday with a larger swell expected midweek, peaking on New Year’s Day at double overhead or more for standout breaks open to the swell.

Super small trace amounts of swell expected out of the SPAC. Not much to get excited about.

Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
