The Hawai‘i State Teachers Association and Kamehameha Schools will congratulate 65 Hawai‘i teachers statewide, who have earned and renewed their national board for professional teaching standards certification.

On Maui, a ceremony will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at 4:30 p.m. at Kamehameha Schools Maui in Pukalani in Keōpūolani Hale.

“The National Board experience has been the most emotional, intensive, reflective and rewarding professional development of my professional career,” said Kyle Fujii, a teacher from Kamehameha Schools Maui.

The National Board Certification for Teachers was designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide.

Completion of the program signifies that these educators have voluntarily decided to take their career to the next level. Teachers that complete the program demonstrate the advanced knowledge, skills and practices required of an outstanding educator.

The school is located at 270 A‘apueo Parkway.
