Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea has appointed Shermaine Rodrigues as the guest experience manager, a new senior position created to accommodate the needs of top-level resort guests.

The new position is part of the resort’s “Complete Suite” initiative, which offers special attention and accommodations to guests staying in residential or ocean-front suites. Guests within the program are treated to special amenities and services, including private in-suite dinners, daily breakfasts and more.

“The Complete Suite Experience is like a ‘hotel within a hotel’ and the GEM position is pivotal because it allows us to connect with guests, to learn their preferences, to anticipate their needs, and to arrange personalized experiences,” said Mark Simon, the resort’s marketing director.

Rodrigues is a Hawaiʻi native with a 12-year track record of excellence serving with the Maui resort’s award-winning concierge team. As the new GEM, Rodrigues will oversee 16 top-level suites, including the Presidential/Residential Suites, the Maile and Lokelani.

The service initiates contact with guests to seek out their needs and accommodation preferences even before their arrival to give them more time to relax during their stay. Rodrigues aims to “wow” guests with a one-of-a-kind resort experience.

“Guests love that I seek them out,” Rodrigues said. “Once I receive a response, I offer a phone call to better orient them about the resort and island, especially if it is their first visit.”
