PHOTOS: Gabbard Visits Maui for District Work Period

Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard visited Maui on Thursday as part the current district work period.
During her visit, Gabbard addressed the student body at Seabury Hall, visited the Maui Farm, and met with Maui Police Chief Tivoli Faaumu. She also meet with and recognized competitors training for the upcoming Special Olympics Swim and Fin event at the YMCA in Kahului and presented awards to the Maui Dolphins Swim Team. The Maui visit was the last stop for Gabbard after visiting Oʻahu and Kailua-Kona earlier this week.
During her visit, Congresswoman Gabbard also discussed the importance of supporting Hawaiian language media and culture with Ōiwi Television leadership in a meeting with ʻŌiwi Television CEO Naʻalehu Anthony and producer Amy Kalili. The station provides an all Hawaiian language and culture content format to viewers in Hawaiʻi.
Another stop on her district visit was a meeting with Maui Hotel & Lodging Charity Walk non-profit team leaders as they prepare for this year’s fundraising event.
Congresswoman Gabbard also met with and congratulated chief Tivoli Faaumu for his selection by the Maui Police Commission to serve as Maui County’s Chief of Police.

Rep. Gabbard attended a meet and greet with Maui Hotel & Lodging Charity Walk Team Leaders to thank them for their leadership and community service. The Maui Hotel & Lodging Association has hosted the state’s largest fundraising event since 1980, raising more than $8.3 million benefiting Maui, Molokaʻi, and Lānaʻi non-profit organizations.
