Downtown Kīhei Project Zoning Request Surfaces for Review
By Wendy Osher
The Maui County Land Use Committee will review the proposed Downtown Kīhei Project on Wednesday, March 18, at 1:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber.
Developers are seeking a change in zoning to accommodate the project, which consists of a mix of business, retail, commercial and hotel uses.
The project is proposed for construction along Piʻikea Street in Kīhei, and includes plans for a movie theater, retail space and a hotel.
Developer, Krausz Companies, is proposing construction of the project on 27 acres that is currently vacant and undeveloped.
The site is bordered to the west by Longs Drugs and the Azeka Shopping Center, to the north by Yee’s Mango Orchard, to the East by the Piʻilani Village Shopping Center, and to the South by the Haggai Institute Maui.
